Preservation

Glass on museums and art galleries as well as your home does an adequate job of eliminating UVB but not UVA. This is the main cause of fading and damage to anything that is adjacent to the window.
CLS-200-X has been used on museums around the world including the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, The National Art Gallery in Ottawa and the Louvre in Paris. It is a transparent film that does not affect the natural lighting effects of a sun lit window. Its scratch resistant coating enables you to clean the glass without damaging the film or affecting its optically clear characteristics.
How does it work?
The sun emits a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, including infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light. Based on its wavelength in nano-meters (nm), the UV reaching the earth can be categorized into ultraviolet A (UVA 320nm – 400nm) and B (UVB, 290nm – 320nm). Standard solar control film does an excellent job of blocking these rays, but it is insufficient for the preservation of sensitive works in museums and art galleries, which need filtration all the way up to 400 nm. Madico’s CLS-200-X provides this added protection by eliminating 100% of both UVA and UVB.
